About the role
As a Senior UX Designer you will deliver a customer led approach to user experience design, taking current state journeys and human problems to create user flows and wireframes to deliver the end-to-end experience for a new CRM and marketing automation technology (Salesforce). You'll shape exciting, highly personalised experiences with impactful UX/UI design to enhance usability, drive engagement, and deliver a measurable impact. You'll contribute to ensuring a cohesive user experience that supports critical journey moments with a focus on student acquisition, onboarding and lifecycle.
You'll work collaboratively within your assigned workstream and across workstreams in the Student 360 Program to realise our ambitions for end-to-end student engagement and service delivery, driving a consistent approach to UX design and user testing building the elements for the workflow navigation components. The role will focus on transforming the experience for lead generation and conversion, and student lifecycle moments with a specific focus on application to enrol through the development of simple intuitive user journeys that take prospects/students through their journey to become Macquarie University students.
Key responsibilities
- Leveraging the Service Design, you'll lead the UX/UI process from concept development to implementation.
- Conduct user research through interviews, data analysis, and usability testing to deeply understand student and business needs.
- Optimise usability and engagement, driving improvements for staff and students
- Collaborate cross-functionally with business owners, SMEs, BAs, Admins, Developers and other stakeholders
- Leverage our design system to ensure consistency, scalability, and brand adherence
About you
You are using Figma or equivalent. Miro should be second nature. You will be an evangelist for Global Experience Macquarie (GEM) gem.mq.edu.au, our Design System. You must also be able to present your designs to senior stakeholders online and in-person via workshops and showcases. You welcome a process-based approach to UX creation - Empathise, Discover, Ideate, Prototype, Test, handover to Developer, and Validation. You have a high attention to detail, with a mix of creative and analytical problem-solving skills.

- Degree or equivalent extensive experience in digital UX design, visual design or related discipline and/or extensive experience.
- 5+ years' experience in UI/UX design, with a strong foundation in user-centric, interaction, and visual design principles.
- Proven ability to design user flows, wireframes, and prototypes that validate ideas and improve usability.
- Advanced understanding of user-centric design approaches, interaction design standards and methodology.
- Experience in creating storyboards, user flows, wireframes, UI design.
- Experience working on large scale projects and delivering to tight deadlines.
- Experience applying user behaviour data and research to create innovative designs and interfaces.
- Experience working in Figma for UX/UI, user flows and prototyping and Miro as a workshop tool.
You will be mentored and supported in all of the above within our highly collaborative environment .
