The Secretariat Officer is responsible for the provision of high level administrative and secretarial support to the National Executive and National Committees of RSL Australia.
The successful applicant must:
have a minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Secretariat Officer or have the equivalent secretariat experience within current role;
have the knowledge and experience to draft, collate and disseminate appropriate papers for meetings, inclusive of agendas, briefings, minutes and other documents as required;
have demonstrated and well-developed minute-taking skills;
have a working understanding of Board governance requirements and responsibilities;
have high level verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail and the ability to self edit;
have exceptional organisational and time management skills with the ability to support multiple committees, prioritise work, manage tight deadlines and meet competing demands.
have experience in working with information of a sensitive nature and demonstrable capacity to work with a high-level of discretion;
be a highly collaborative and inclusive team player;
have sound knowledge of MS Office and AI programs.
Desirable
have experience with Board Effect software or similar;
Experience in the Not-for-Profit sector would be highly regarded.
KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under general direction, the Secretariat Officer duties include but is not limited to:
Act as the Secretariat for the National Board, the National Veterans’ Affairs Committee, the Finance and Risk Committee and other National Committees as required;
Act as Subject Matter Expert of the RSL National Constitution and By-Laws;
Draft, collate and disseminate papers for all meetings, inclusive of agendas, briefings, minutes and other documents to a high standard;
Contribute to effective communication between the Executive and internal and external stakeholders;
Maintain accurate records to support Governance requirements;
Co-ordinate annual schedules for meetings and update workplans for National Board and other National Committees;
Manage Board and Committee correspondence;
Maintain and update RSL National Policies and Procedures as required;
Maintain ACNC records;
Assist with key projects and initiatives across the wider business as directed by the CEO.
