The Role & The Team

In this key role, you will drive the strategic planning, coordination and prioritisation of training resources across multiple locations in support of strategic training deliverables for both accredited and non-accredited training. In consultation with training delivery stakeholders, the position will analyse, develop and implement training schedules in support of organisational requirements. Work across complex ARFFS rosters and dynamic operational demands to ensure strategic, well-coordinated training delivery.

You will be a key member of the Training Planning team responsible for the planning of all operational training nationally for both Aviation Fire Fighting and Air Traffic Control and collaborate with key stakeholders including ARFFS Training Delivery Leads, Senior Instructors, Training Officers, Workforce Planning, Operational Training and Resourcing staff, Line Leaders, and Project SMEs.

The Person

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Extensive industry experience and demonstrable career outcomes in performing strategic planning and analysis in a highly complex and dynamic work environment
  • Extensive planning, analysis and problem-solving experience in a similar aviation, training or safety environment and devising creative/innovative solutions to achieve organisational objectives
  • Demonstrated leadership within a customer delivery environment and setting appropriate standards of behaviour, scheduling and planning experience
  • Detailed practical knowledge of operational training environments within an enterprise organisation
  • Demonstrated experience of building wide and effective networks and gaining agreement/commitment from others by persuading, convincing and negotiating
  • A degree or equivalent experience in a related field
