The Strategic Land Use Planning Team within the City Planning and Environment Division plays a key role in planning for the future urban development of the Campbelltown Local Government Area, including Greenfield, urban centres and urban renewal and aims to ensure best practice environmental, infrastructure and social outcomes are achieved. In addition, the team develops planning strategies relating to housing and employment.
About the role:
We are currently seeking an Executive Strategic Land Use Planner to join our team a permanent full-time basis. This role will see the successful applicant provide accurate and timely advice on strategic land use matters and will be responsible for developing strategies, statutory policies and procedures for future land use, development and urban design outcomes.
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following key skills and attributes:
Tertiary Qualifications in Town/Urban & Regional Planning or other related qualifications
Extensive experience working as a senior urban land use planner on strategic land use planning projects.
Knowledge of principles and practices of urban, regional and community planning.
Effective analytical and innovative problem solving skills and a highly developed ability to interpret relevant legislation.
Extensive project and work management skills such as producing project plans, consultancy briefs and managing project progress from start to finish.
Computer literacy with experience in Microsoft Office and Finance based software.
Highly developed written communication and research skills to present concise and accurate reports, as well as preparing technical papers, conference and seminar presentations and grant application.
Ability to extract an innovative design solution, using knowledge, experience, best practice standards and conflict resolution skills.
Self motivated and the ability to work in a position which has a high level of independence and minimal supervision.
Effective decision making and negotiation skills.
Current Class C drivers licence.
