Sisters in the City, a leading NDIS provider in South East Queensland, is seeking a compassionate and skilled Enrolled Nurse to join our team in a unique and rewarding role. We specialise in providing high-quality care for individuals with complex needs, including those requiring specialised support for mental health recovery and other generalise community nursing skills.
About the Role: As an Enrolled Nurse with Sisters in the City, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the lives of our clients, particularly those with complex medical needs and those recovering from mental health conditions. This position offers an opportunity to utilise your nursing skills in a community-based setting, supporting clients in their homes as they transition to independent living.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive nursing care, including complex bowel care procedures such as digital rectal stimulation and enema administration
Support clients recovering from mental health conditions, including those transitioning from hospitals or other care settings to community living
Assist with personal care, including bathing, dressing, and grooming
Perform household tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and dish washing to maintain a hygienic living environment
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement person-centred care plans
Administer medications and monitor clients' physical and mental health status
Provide education and support to clients and families
Maintain accurate clinical documentation and report any changes in clients' conditions
Essential Requirements:
Current registration as an Enrolled Nurse with AHPRA
Demonstrated experience in complex bowel care procedures
Knowledge and experience in supporting individuals recovering from mental health conditions
Willingness to perform a wide range of duties, including personal care and household tasks
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Current Blue Card (Working with Children Check) or ability to obtain one
Current Yellow Card (NDIS Worker Screening Clearance) or ability to obtain one
Current First Aid and CPR certification
Completed or willingness to complete the NDIS Worker Orientation module
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
Desirable Qualifications:
Experience working in disability services or community mental health
NDIS experience
Mental Health First Aid certification

Location: Our office is located in Upper Roma Street, Brisbane, but we are recruiting for shifts running from Wacol and Collingwood Park.
