Karlka Recruiting Group has partnered with a Federal Government Agency to engage a Procurement Review Officer (APS4). This position is based in the busy Kingston, TAS office for an initial 6-month contract + possible extension. Flexible work-from-home arrangements may be negotiated for the right candidate.
About the Position
Our client is seeking an experienced Procurement Review Officer to join their procurement unit, which plays a critical role in supporting complex programs of national significance. The successful candidate will work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure procurement activities are well planned, compliant, and effectively executed.
Duties
- Provide support and advice to business units on planning and conducting procurement in alignment with relevant government procurement rules and internal policies
- Assist with training activities and contribute to the development of procurement capability across the organisation
- Support end-users with procurement systems, ensuring accurate data entry and compliance within financial and contract management systems
- Liaise with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to resolve procurement-related issues and deliver timely outcomes
- Foster a positive and collaborative team environment with a focus on continuous improvement
Requirements/Skills
- Demonstrated ability to follow formal guidelines and procedures (e.g., policies, legislation, standard operating procedures)
- Experience using Financial Management Information Systems (FMIS), such as SAP or Technology One, or ability to quickly learn new systems
- Solid understanding of procurement governance and contract management within a government or complex organisational setting
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to clearly convey complex information in writing and verbally
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage competing demands independently
- Collaborative team player with a proven ability to build positive relationships across diverse stakeholders
