About the role

We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Construction Estimator to join our dynamic team at Neater Constructions (Q) Pty Ltd in Cairns, Queensland. As a full-time Senior Construction Estimator, you will play a crucial role in the successful delivery of construction projects by accurately estimating costs and managing the tendering process.

What you'll be doing

Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labour, equipment, and subcontractor costs

Analyse project plans, specifications, and drawings to identify and quantify all required materials and labour

Collaborate with project managers, quantity surveyors, and other team members to ensure accurate and comprehensive estimates

Prepare and submit competitive tenders and bids for construction projects

Continuously research and stay up-to-date with industry trends, pricing, and regulatory changes

Provide support and mentoring to junior estimators and contribute to the development of estimating processes and procedures

What we're looking for

At least 8 years of experience as a Construction Estimator, preferably in a similar role within the construction industry

Demonstrated expertise in preparing accurate and detailed cost estimates for a wide range of construction projects

Strong technical skills in reading and interpreting construction plans, specifications, and drawings

Proficient in the use of estimating software and tools, such as CostX, Buildsoft and Excel

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to present complex financial information to both technical and non-technical audiences

A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience
