WorkTrybe are proud to be partnering with a long standing transport client on a retained basis to find their new Business Development Manager for NSW. We are on the look out for a true Sales professional with a hunter mindset - who will flourish in this customer centric environment.
This Australian company provides premium services in national road express specialised transportation and logistics services. They are respected and renowned for their strong company values and inclusive culture.
The role will be based onsite at their Head Office site at Lidcombe in Western Sydney, then relocate to Kemps Creek at their brand new, state of the art facility in 2026. Of course as a BDM you'll be out on the road prospecting and visiting clients most of the time!

- Report to a tenured, well-respected General Manager and leader in the transport and logistics industry
What the role involves?
- Prospecting and converting sales opportunities
- Find the balance of short term sales cycles and "quick-wins" and large, key account acquisition
- Go to tender and win large transport accounts across multiple industries
- Manage your accounts for 3 months before they move to a dedicated client services team
- Understand customer needs and deliver the right solution to meet their needs
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and
stakeholders - Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations, proposals, and contract negotiations
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities, pipeline status, and client
interactions in the company CRM - Represent the business at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to increase your pipeline and convert new customers
What you need to be successful?
- Recent experience in selling road freight transport services, ideally at one of the large transport companies (a minimum of 3 years exp)
- Mid-large market customer sales background
- Deep understanding of the transport industry in Australia, it's challenges and opportunities
- Proven wins in new business conversion
- Customer-centric lookout - you ask great questions and can deliver a tailored solution to meet your client needs
- Have long standing relationships which you maintain through high service, consistent contact and doing what you say you'll do!
- Excellent communication and influencing skills
- Determination and drive to succeed
