About the Role
The role plays a pivotal part within the City Safety and Compliance Department in the delivery of statutory services surrounding city safety and domestic animal. The role requires excellent communication skills to liaise across various stakeholders in the community. Key deliverables include:
• Undertake inspections to ensure that all requirements are in accordance with relevant Acts, Codes and Guidelines.
• Complete investigations and determine any further action with service request.
• Lead an annual project portfolio and provide specialist advice as required to the organisation and community.
• Document and maintain accurate records of inspections.
• Liaise within the Local Laws/Animal Management and other council business units as required
• Provide accurate technical advice to the public, including email and telephone enquiries.
Skills & Experience
• Extensive knowledge of Local Government Act 1989, Domestic Animals Act 1994, Environmental Protection Act 2017 and Local Laws.
• Demonstrated recent experience in this role, preferably in a local government environment.
• Excellent problem solving and time management skills
• Ability to work effectively and efficiently with minimal supervision
• Current drivers licence, Working with Childrens’ check and police check
