Currently, there are around 4.3 million Australians with a disability. The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) implements the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), which is one of the biggest social reforms in the country since Medicare. As an Agency, we support more than 600,000 participants with a significant and permanent disability, and the families and carers of those living with disability. For many Australians, this will be the first time they receive the disability support they need. The NDIA is designed to enhance the quality of life and increase economic and social participation for people with disability and will mean a peace of mind for every Australian.
A new role awaits
The Scheme Reporting team is part of the Financial Reporting and Control Branch, responsible for the delivery of strategic financial advice and reporting, and valued financial management services throughout the Agency.
The Scheme Reporting team provides oversight in the performance & position of the Scheme's financial statements and monitors the financial systems these statements rely on. Comprising four specialised teams, they collectively analyse revenues, expenses, payables, receivables, systems and controls. Their critical role involves informed decision-making, safeguarding financial position, and ensuring accurate financial reporting.
We have an exciting opportunity for an APS4 Finance Officer to join the team.

As an APS4 Finance Officer you will be part of a team applying well-established policies, principles, practices and procedures to provide operational and administrative support.
Responsibilities may include:
- Facilitating in system transaction processing to ensure financial data is accurate and complete.
- Preparing accurate and timely management reports as required.
- Providing input into the development of Standard Operating Procedures for the team, including process mapping.
- Working with key stakeholders to support various projects and initiatives.

Our ideal candidate has background studies in Finance/Commerce with data analysis being highly desirable.
They are a problem solver and proactively seek solutions to issues as they arise.
They will demonstrate the ability to work across a broad range of activities potentially relating to the work of different program areas.
They excel at working closely with stakeholders, with demonstrated experience in building and maintaining productive relationships at all levels.
They have experience in Microsoft Office Suite (intermediate Excel skills) and the ability to navigate financial systems to extract and analyse data and/or resolve enquiries.
They have passion for social impact and a contemporary attitude towards people with disabilities and the impact on individuals.

While this role is ideally performed from Geelong - VIC or Richmond - VIC, flexible working arrangements may be considered. We intend to fill this role in an ongoing capacity, however non-ongoing roles up to 12 months with the possibility of extension up to 2 years may be offered.
Successful candidates will be required to undergo a pre-employment National Police History check, Worker Screening check and/or Working with Children Check (where required) and provide evidence of Australian Citizenship.
