The Opportunity
As Events and Engagement Manager, you’ll play a key role in delivering some of the most high-profile events in Australia’s higher education sector. From shaping the Universities Australia Solutions Summit to leading the Shaping Australia Awards, you’ll lead the end-to-end event delivery on a national stage.

The Role
- Develop and deliver high-impact event concepts aligned with organisational goals and brand identity
- Manage event budgets, contracts, and timelines to ensure quality outcomes and cost-effectiveness
- Coordinate logistics end-to-end, including venues, catering, AV, transport, accommodation, and on-site execution
- Secure and manage sponsorships, including proposal development, liaison, and agreement fulfilment
- Lead and manage event support staff, including volunteers and contractors
- Prepare post-event reports, analysing performance, engagement, and financial outcomes
- Identify opportunities to generate revenue through sponsorships, and partnerships
The Ideal Person
You are an experienced Events Manager with over 3 years of experience and/or qualifications in events management or program management with strong communications and organisation skills.
You will also have the following skills/capabilities:
- Practical experience in an events or program management role
- Strong interpersonal, organisation and problem-solving skills
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced working environment
- Practical experience liaising with a broad range of stakeholders and senior leaders
- Excellent time management and attention to detail
Salary / Rate
- 12-month fixed term contract
- $110k - $120k + 17% Super (salary guide dependent on experience)
- Free on-site parking
- Location: Canberra
