Our office is based in the Ipswich CBD, however we are flexible with part-time Work From Home arrangements. The team at Conetix is all Australian based with no outsourced work. We pride ourselves on having a happy work environment as it helps ensure we deliver great customer outcomes.

About the Role

Your day-to-day job involves working with multiple technology stacks to diagnose issues and improve existing services. As part of our quality assurance, you’ll also be responsible for contributing to the automation of systems as well as diagnostics.

The applicant should have a solid Linux foundation as the current infrastructure platform is Linux based. This would be a great opportunity for someone looking to expand their virtualisation knowledge and learn from the existing engineering team.

Some basic coding experience is also required, with micro-services and scripting used to orchestrate the platform. Diagnostics and review of customer services is required at times to provide fault finding and diagnostics data back to the customer.

Day-to-day server maintenance tasks including preventative maintenance tasks and reactive fault finding

Investigation of issues as they’re escalated from the support team

Incremental enhancement of existing monitoring and logging systems

Detailed monitoring and understanding of system metrics, logging and diagnostics

Continual enhancement of orchestration tools to ensure consistent server builds and change management

Experience

Mandatory:

Australian citizenship

3+ years Linux systems engineering / systems administration

3+ years of virtualisation experience

Excellent troubleshooting skills and IT aptitude

Solid network understanding including VLAN’s, DNS, subnetting and routing.

Strong security ethos

Basic PHP programming experience

Automation driven mindset

Desire to achieve the best result possible

Drivers licence and vehicle

Desired:

Experience with Linux containers

Experience with web hosting, predominantly based on PHP and MySQL

Cloud computing and distributed computing systems experience

Experience with web-servers and databases

Python and/or Go programming experience

Windows server administration
