A specialist Government organisation based in Sydney CBD is looking for an experienced temporary Finance Officer to support their team for a 9 month period with potential to extend.

Your new role

Working closely with the Finance Manager your key duties will be:

• Managing Accounts Payable processes
• Ensuring all coding and allocations are correct
• Resolving Supplier and internal stakeholder payment queries
• Distributing invoices to business units for approval and payment
• Statement reconciliations
• Assisting with Accounts Receivable and invoicing queries
• Staff corporate and travel expense management
• Updating fixed assets register
• Preparing and updating weekly payment reports
• Assisting finance manager with year end, audit and ad-hoc projects
• Supporting finance team with payment calculations and daily returns

What you'll need to succeed

• Solid experience of all Accounts Payable duties
• A good understanding of Accounts Receivable processes
• Very good communication skills as you will be working with many different business units
• Strong problem solving skills
• Ideally Accountancy degree or Tafe qualifications
• Intermediate Excel skills
