Who We Are
Mangrove Housing is a Community Housing Provider and registered charity / not-for-profit that offers individually tailored services and supports to over 1,200 people in need each year. We have been assisting South East Queensland communities find affordable housing through the delivery of homes and person-centred support services for 30 years.
Mangrove Housing operates alongside its 2 subsidiary companies; Mangrove Maintenance and Cleaning and Mangrove Realty, to form Mangrove Group. We operate out of our Head Office at Wynnum with local offices at Cleveland and Beenleigh.
The Role
Reporting to the Finance Team Leader, this role works within a friendly and supportive team of multi-skilled staff. As Finance Officer you will be responsible for providing efficient and accurate financial administration to the operation of the Mangrove Group in accordance with its policies, procedures, and philosophy.
This is a permanent, part-time position based at our Wynnum Head Office (relocating to Murarrie in July 2025), however travel between our 3 offices may be required from time to time. We offer flexible working arrangements for employees, where practical.
Key accountabilities:
Reporting to the Finance Team Leader, your duties will include but are not limited to:
Property Rentals
Financial administration of the property management software. This includes daily bank recs, processing rental bonds and bond top-ups to RTA (BPay), rent receipting, entering creditor invoices, statement queries, updating change of owners, finalising tenants with bond refunds, mid and end of month owner payment disbursements, end of financial year processing (financial year statements), setting up and verifying new creditors, setting up owners and new properties, journals, finalising vacant properties.
Providing periodic audit information to external auditors.
Maintaining records for tenant properties (signed management agreement form 6, signed copy of current lease, annual smoke alarm compliance).
Processing payments and uploading bank ABA and BPay payment files.
Property Sales
Processing property sales to settlement (receipting deposits, liaising with sale agent and solicitors, processing settlement payments and statements).
Other
Providing support and assistance to Service Delivery department as required.
Performing any other duties as required by the Finance Team Leader or CFO.
Providing backup cover to team members absent on leave.
About You
Experience as a Finance Officer or similar role is essential. Practical experience working with MYOB and PropertyMe, or similar systems is advantageous.
