Procurements and Contracts Manager

• Location: Gungahlin, ACT
• Contract Duration: 12 months with the possibility of a 6-month extension
• Start Date: ASAP (pending cleared Police Check and Personnel Vetting Program clearance)
• Work Requirements: 3 days onsite per week (no remote work available)
• Pay Rate: $110–$120/hour + Super

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Procurements and Contracts Manager to join a major transformation program focused on building whole-of-government ICT capability. Reporting to the Director, Commercial and Program Finance, this role is responsible for managing end-to-end procurement processes (including RFQs and RFTs), overseeing contract management, and ensuring compliance with ACT Government frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage procurement processes from planning through to evaluation and contract negotiation.
• Develop procurement documentation (RFx) and ensure alignment with ACT Government legislation and policy.
• Provide probity guidance and ensure ethical procurement practices.
• Maintain effective stakeholder relationships, both internal and external, including Procurement ACT.
• Support contract management activities, including maintaining registers and recording key contract notes.
• Contribute to broader commercial and finance activities as required.

What We’re Looking ForTechnical Skills & Experience:

• Strong knowledge of ACT Government procurement legislation and frameworks.
• Proven experience managing end-to-end procurement processes within ACT Government.
• Proficiency in contract management, including working with vendors and stakeholders across disciplines.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Relevant qualifications in procurement and contract management are highly desirable.

Mandatory Requirements

• ACT Government Personnel Vetting Program (Baseline) clearance (or ability to obtain).
• No Working with Vulnerable People Check or driver’s license required.
• Based in the ACT – remote applicants will not be considered.
