This newly created role offers a unique opportunity for a finance professional to contribute to our growing team and potentially expand to a full-time position as the role evolves.
Position Summary: The Finance and Payroll Officer is responsible for managing financial operations, including payroll processing, invoicing, reconciliation, and financial reporting. Working closely with the management team, this role will ensure accurate financial record-keeping across NDIS and Child Safety funding streams. Given the evolving nature of this position, responsibilities may be adjusted or expanded to meet organisational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Payroll Management:
Oversee and reconcile payroll against staff timesheets and rosters.
Process payroll, prepare payslips, and ensure accurate payments.
Address payroll queries and ensure compliance with relevant awards and legislation.
Financial Administration:
Generate, track, and reconcile NDIS invoices.
Generate, track, and reconcile Child Safety invoices.
Prepare and monitor financial service agreements within the NDIS and Child Safety frameworks.
Allocate and track business transactions, ensuring alignment with budgets and financial plans.
Reporting and Reconciliation:
Prepare monthly financial reports, including forecasts and reconciliation statements.
Monitor and report on weekly outgoings, raising ABA files as required.
Support budget monitoring and expenditure tracking to maintain financial control.
Selection Criteria:
1-2 years of experience in financial administration, payroll, or accounting.
Qualifications in financial administration, bookkeeping, or related discipline.
Experience with Xero and/or other accounting software.
Experience with NDIS systems such as Flow Logic or similar care management systems.
High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
Additional Requirements:
NDIS Worker Screening Check.
Current Working with Children Check (Blue Card - QLD).
Current driver’s licence.
First Aid and CPR certification (desirable).
