About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and professional HR Consultant (AO4 level) to join the Department of Primary Industries (DPI) – Forestry Business Services (FBS) in Brisbane. You'll be part of a close-knit, state-wide team that supports the strategic and operational HR needs of Forestry staff who oversee commercial forest product sales and sustainable industry development.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide accurate, timely HR advice aligned with legislation and internal policy
• Manage end-to-end recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding processes
• Review and advise on position descriptions and workforce planning
• Support compliance with departmental workforce strategies
• Maintain strong professional relationships across the organisation
• Monitor and report on establishment and staffing data
• Maintain accurate HR documentation and systems
• Provide advice on policies, procedures, and best practice HR
• Contribute to HR process improvement projects

About You
You bring a sound understanding of HR principles and a can-do attitude. You’re confident working independently and collaboratively in a small team and enjoy building relationships across all levels of an organisation.

Contract Details

• 36.25 hours/week (Monday to Friday, between 6am–6pm)
• Contract through to June 2026
• Mandatory Queensland Government Christmas closure
• Flexible work options considered (subject to approval)
