Work from home
Specialisation in mortgage law
Competitive salary with fee share
We are a firm that specializes in acting on commercial mortgage advances throughout Australia. We have an excellent pedigree in mortgage law forged over 24 years in business. The position is therefore suited to candidates with some exposure to mortgage advance work in their previous role although we are interested in graduates and those about to graduate if you have sterling academics.
We have physical offices in Sydney and Tewantin (Qld) although most of our staff work from home and we invest heavily in technology and support to enable this.
We have a collegiate culture because our firm permits maximum flexibility, the least amount of stress and a competitive remuneration that rewards talent. Your base salary will be $110-120k (gross). Once you reach your stride after 3 months, you will participate in fee share. Fee share is calculated as a % of your earnings and paid weekly. Your earnings will be between $120-180k depending upon how much work you choose to take on.
We strive to help you reach your fee earning goals with an impressive pipeline of high quality deals. Once you have been with us for two years or so, you will be given conduct of your own matters and a path to partnership.
This means you have maximum incentive to develop your career alongside like-minded highly skilled colleagues.
You will be assigned to a highly experienced partner who will nurture your career and teach you everything they know. Most of our partners began as junior solicitors like you. You will remotely supervise a team of paralegals. We have an extremely detailed mortgage advances procedures manual. The firm uses Actionstep, Google, Docusign & PEXA and other cloud based applications. We have advanced document assembly technology that generates our security documents automatically.
We have paralegals who do the administrative work (file opening, searches, calling to chase documents etc). We have a dedicated bookkeeper who does all billing and trust accounts. We have another bookkeeper who handles all disbursements and receipts. We have an Operations Manager who handles systems, precedents, and recruitment. We have very experienced practitioners who oversee the running of the firm.
If this sounds attractive to you and you want to learn more please submit your resume today.
About Bransgroves Lawyers
We specialise in mortgage law, asset protection and commercial litigation.
For the first half of the 2000s we specialised in acting on mortgage enforcements and advances for private lenders and mortgage funds. During this time construction finance and private loans formed a large part of our practice.
Over the course of the second half of the 2000s, we came to the attention of larger institutional lenders, who began to brief us on their more complex advances, enforcement and priority work. We also established one of the largest valuer negligence practices in the country.
As part of the fallout from the GFC in 2009 Bransgroves began to receive instructions from originators and aggregators in their disputes with wholesale funders.
Since 2011 our work in assisting lenders with their security documentation and underwriting procedures led to our offering a comprehensive compliance consultancy for retail mortgage funds.
Our practice now includes all of the above services.
