About the Opportunity

We’re currently partnering with one of Australia’s emerging gold producers on multiple planning roles across their high-grade underground operations in Western Australia. As they ramp up development and production across a growing portfolio, they’re seeking a Senior Planning Engineer and a Planning Engineer to join their close-knit technical services team on site.

These are hands-on site-based roles where you'll contribute directly to the success of a dynamic underground mining environment. Whether you’re an experienced senior or an up-and-coming planner looking to step up, this team offers genuine opportunities for growth, mentorship, and long-term career progression.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain medium to long-term mine plans and schedules
• Liaise with geology, survey, and production teams to ensure alignment across planning and execution
• Assist with stope design, sequencing, and mine layouts using modern planning tools
• Identify and mitigate risks associated with remnant mining and dynamic ground conditions
• Produce timely and accurate production forecasts and planning documentation
• Support the ramp-up of underground operations, contributing to project development and expansion strategies
• Mentor junior engineers (Senior role) and support the delivery of planning targets

About You

Senior Planning Engineer (5+ years' experience):

• Proven experience in underground gold mining (hard rock essential)
• Strong mine planning and scheduling background
• Confident with 3MS, mine design software (e.g., Deswik, Surpac), and remnant mining strategies
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a dynamic production environment

Planning Engineer (2–4 years' experience):

• Background in underground mine planning (gold preferred)
• Competent in mine scheduling and design software
• Eager to learn and grow within a high-performing site team
