About the Role
The Asset and Infrastructure Services Manager oversees the maintenance, compliance, and lifecycle management of research and teaching assets across a range of scientific disciplines and facilities. The role involves managing maintenance contracts, ensuring regulatory compliance, and developing asset replacement plans to support the College's research and teaching goals.
Working collaboratively with technical staff, academics, and external contractors, the role requires excellent communication, project management, and problem-solving skills. It suits a capable, independent individual with strong systems knowledge and a broad skill set.
In addition to the above, the Asset and Infrastructure Services Manager will support:
- Equipment availability and upkeep
- Asset management
- Finance and Procurement
- Compliance
- Supervision of staff
About You
As the Asset and Infrastructure Services Manager, you will build strong relationships across the College of Science and Engineering and with external partners. Success in this role relies on your ability to lead confidently, take initiative, and make independent decisions. You'll need an understanding of WHS legislation, experience with finance systems including budgeting and procurement, and strong skills in managing and negotiating with contractors. While similar experience is valued, we are seeking candidates with proven leadership, a collaborative approach, and a commitment to fostering a positive team culture.
To be successful in this role, you will also demonstrate:
- Sound knowledge of WHS policies and procedures and in particular the management of plant and contractors.
- Experience managing data and records.
- Experience in the supervision of staff for the provision of a high level of service within a team environment.
