The Aboriginal Health Council of South Australia Limited (AHCSA) is the peak body representing Aboriginal community-controlled health and substance misuse services in South Australia at state and national levels.
Our primary role is to be the ‘health voice’ for all Aboriginal people in South Australia. We achieve this by advocating for the community and supporting workers through our Member Services with appropriate Aboriginal health programs based on a holistic perspective of health.
Broad Purpose of the Role
The Manager, Information Technology is responsible for the comprehensive management of AHCSA’s Information Technology (IT) operations and infrastructure, ensuring the effectiveness, security, and continuous improvement of the organisation’s technology to align with its strategic goals.
The Manager oversees the development and implementation of efficient IT systems and processes, ensuring the smooth operation of IT services across AHCSA. This includes providing timely, high-quality user support, implementing IT security measures, and ensuring compliance with relevant standards. Additionally, the Manager supervises the documentation of IT issues and collects data to inform IT planning and decision-making.
The position also involves developing and delivering tailored IT support services to meet the specific needs of AHCSA’s Member Services as required.
The Manager is accountable to and reports to the General Manager, Business Services. The role works closely with the AHCSA Leadership Team and all staff on all IT matters, as well as the Chief Executive Officers of Member Services, as required.
The Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining effective communication and working relationships with existing networks across the health sector and operates under the principles of Aboriginal community control.
The position works under limited direction and has management responsibility for the delivery of IT functions, systems and strategies across AHCSA, in line with agreed frameworks, policies, procedures and other requirements.
Where required, the Manager also works collaboratively with Member Services to provide information and guidance on IT matters, and to deliver tailored support services.
This position holds financial delegations as determined through the AHCSA Delegations Framework.
Key Responsibilities
IT Operations and Infrastructure Management: Managing and maintaining AHCSA’s core IT systems and infrastructure, and ensuring smooth functioning through configuration, troubleshooting, and software updates
User Support and Customer Service: Providing timely and effective IT support to staff and Member Services, ensuring efficient customer service and seamless onboarding/offboarding of users
IT Security and Compliance: Safeguarding IT systems by managing access, addressing security threats such as phishing, and ensuring compliance with policies and regulations
IT Reporting and Documentation: Ensuring accurate documentation and reporting of IT issues and data collection for decision-making and planning purposes
IT Strategy, Insights and Improvement: Aligning IT activities with AHCSA's broader mission and improving IT policy, reporting, and quality
Tailored support for Member Services: Managing the provision of tailored IT service support to Member Services, as required
Team Leadership: Fostering a productive and supportive environment and providing leadership for IT Team members
Essential Experience
Experience in leading the implementation and maintenance of complex IT infrastructure, ensuring security, flexibility, and reliability across organisational systems.
Experience in leveraging a range of information technology-based systems, including Microsoft Office applications and Communicare, to support complex projects and organisational goals.
Experience in utilising and optimising the latest version of a computer operating system in professional settings.
Bachelor of Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity or other tertiary qualification in a relevant field (or lesser formal qualifications with acquisition of considerable skills and extensive relevant experience to an equivalent standard; or a combination of experience, expertise and competence sufficient to perform the duties required at this level).
Desirable Experience
Experience in delivering comprehensive IT services to Aboriginal people.
Experience in developing and managing IT programs within mainstream health services or Aboriginal community-controlled services, with a proven track record of driving successful initiatives.
Experience in projects or initiatives within the Aboriginal community-controlled health sector, demonstrating a thorough understanding of governance, cultural context, and health needs.

Special Conditions
Out of normal hours work may be required.
Requires the ability to travel intra-state and interstate, including overnight absences.
National Police Certificate is required.
Working with Children Screening may be required.
Conditions of Employment
