Role Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Supply Planner to join our team on an initial 12-month contract basis. Working with a global entity this role involves managing the supply planning process, ensuring optimal inventory levels, and coordinating across various functions to meet customer demand efficiently. The role offers a great opportunity to contribute to a global leader in the industry, with a focus on process improvement, inventory optimization, and effective demand fulfillment.
Key Responsibilities:
End-to-End Supply Planning:
Oversee the entire supply planning process, ensuring alignment between demand forecasts, production schedules, and inventory levels. Collaborate with procurement, logistics, and production teams to guarantee smooth product flow and timely availability.
Inventory Management & Optimization:
Manage and optimize inventory levels to balance supply and demand while avoiding stockouts or excess inventory. Regularly assess and adjust inventory strategies to ensure effective use of resources.
Forecasting & Demand Analysis:
Work closely with the demand planning team to refine forecasting methods. Provide input into demand planning processes and assist in analysing data to improve accuracy and alignment with supply chain capacity.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Collaborate with internal stakeholders such as procurement, sales, and logistics teams to identify potential risks in supply and demand. Proactively address any constraints that may affect product availability or on-time delivery.
Process Improvement:
Identify areas for process optimization within the supply chain. Actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, suggesting and implementing best practices in supply planning and inventory control.
Performance Reporting & Data Analysis:
Regularly track, analyse, and report on supply chain metrics such as inventory turnover, fill rates, and on-time delivery. Use data-driven insights to propose improvements and mitigate risks.
Supplier Relationship Management:
Maintain effective communication with suppliers to ensure timely and accurate deliveries. Address any supply issues proactively to minimize disruption in the supply chain.
Qualifications & Skills:
Experience:
Ideally 3 years’ experience in supply chain management, logistics, or planning, ideally in a fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) or similar environment.
Technical Skills:
Strong proficiency in Excel (advanced level) and familiarity with supply chain management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or equivalent).
Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills:
Strong analytical abilities, with a focus on data interpretation and trend analysis. Ability to identify problems, analyse root causes, and implement effective solutions.
Communication:
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and interact with a wide range of stakeholders.
Adaptability & Attention to Detail:
Ability to adapt to changing demands and priorities while maintaining attention to detail and operational efficiency.
Education:
A degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field is preferred.
