Senior Appeals Planner – Government Opportunity

Primary Purpose:
To manage development appeals and provide expert planning advice to internal and external stakeholders, ensuring compliance with legislation and delivering high-quality customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead management of development appeals in the Planning and Environment Court.
• Provide expert planning advice, brief solicitors, and coordinate with legal and technical experts.
• Coordinate complex development applications with input from specialist officers.
• Act as a planning expert in court matters as required.
• Support continual improvement of the planning team’s operations and capabilities.

What They’re Looking For:

• Strong experience in development assessment and thorough knowledge of Queensland planning legislation.
• High-level communication, negotiation, and customer service skills, especially handling sensitive and complex matters.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• Well-developed written communication skills for reports and correspondence.
• Commitment to continuous professional development.

Mandatory:

• Full working rights in Australia
• Recognised Town Planning Degree (or equivalent).
• Ability to pass a Criminal History Check.
