Marine Seek Pty Ltd is looking for experienced and professional AMSA certified MED I 's to join our onboard operations team.

The successful applicants will work within a team of high calibre professionals ensuring our guest experiences are at the very highest level of service and safety.

A MED I or higher AMSA qualification is required to join our Bundaberg based marine tourism operation. Full-time, Part time and casual positions are available with the option of well remunerated day rates or salaried packages. AMSA CERTIFICATION IS ESSENTIAL AND CANDIDATES WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED WITHOUT THIS. Applicants are required to live in the region or be prepared to relocate, FIFO is not an option for this position.

Our operations currently include:

Liveaboard style overnight accommodation on Lady Musgrave HQ Pontoon permanently moored in the Lady Musgrave Island coral cay, on the Southern Great Barrier Reef

Lady Musgrave Island full day tours departing Bundaberg Port Marina Daily

Australia Whale Watching ½ day tours departing Bundaberg Port Marina

Outer Reef Diving Experiences on the Southern Great Barrier Reef

Seasonal guest experiences including snorkelling with manta rays and turtle hatching experiences

Marine Engine Driver Grade 1 (MED 1) Engineer:

Our vessels are maintained to the highest standard. Previous experience in maintaining all systems on high speed passenger vessels is essential. The successful candidate will posses excellent customer service and communication skills and be a confident and experienced Engineer. Attention to detail is they key to success in this role with a focus on preventative/scheduled maintenance.

As Marine Engineer within this company you will:

Strive to excel in delivering safe and enjoyable experiences for our guests

Ensure the safety of passengers and crew by implementing all required safety checks, scheduled maintenance and safe vessel operations

Possess exceptional marine engine knowledge

Ensure your vessel (s) is maintained in a clean, seaworthy and mechanically sound state

Be responsible for all property, including vessels and any equipment

Have a disciplined and strong work ethic and take pride as a professional, always looking for ways to improve

Be a confident communicator, able to provide informative and engaging commentary to guests whilst on tour.

You will be a team player who will bring to the role:

MED 1 (AMSA) Certificate or higher qualification

International qualifications must be recognised and certified by AMSA

Proven experience as engineer on similar vessel

Current First Aid, Oxygen Administration & CPR Certificates are all essential, as well as Qld valid Blue Card or willingness to obtain these within 1 month of commencement

Previous experience working on passenger vessels and a thorough understanding of Vessel Safety Operations and Marine Safety

Current Driver's License & marine medical clearance

Exceptional management skills

Excellent communication and customer service skills

Strong organisational skills

Self directed work ethic

A team player and a positive “can do” attitude

Candidates with dual qualifications as Master Class IV <45m (AMSA) Certificate or higher qualification (AMSA) are very highly regarded

Candidates with dive qualifications highly regarded, but not essential

A FULL MEDICAL WITH CERTIFICATE IS REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION. THIS POSITION REQUIRES YOU TO LIVE LOCALLY OR BE WILLING TO RELOCATE OR DRIVE TO THE REGION WEEKLY.
