- Current rates for Senior Second Engineer is $172K (increasing by 3% as of 1st July 2025) plus superannuation and travel allowance to cover travel to Brisbane port
Join our team as a permanent Senior Second Engineer where you will carry out engineering watch keeping duties during duty periods in addition to scheduled and breakdown maintenance and housekeeping as required by the Chief Engineer. You will work 2 weeks on 2 weeks off onboard Port of Brisbane’s trailer suction hopper dredge which operates 24/7, 365 days a year.
Innovative, technical and highly motivated team member: here’s who we’re looking for.
- You hold a current qualification as AMSA Engineer Watchkeeper with a preference for a AMSA Engineer Class 2 certificate of competency in addition to a current AMSA certificate of Medical Fitness.
- You have a thorough knowledge of the ISM code as it relates to Engineering and the Maintenance of the Ship and Equipment.
- You have demonstrated commitment to safety leadership.
- You’re resilient and enjoy working within a small team environment.
- You’re driven to deliver results and take accountability for your work.
- You can fault find and trouble shoot effectively.
- You ideally have previous experience in dredging.
