The Role

We are currently searching for an experienced Site Engineer with a recognised Civil Engineering Bachelor Degree and with at least 5 to 8 years civil construction background to join our experienced on-site team to assist them in delivering often complex and very dynamic civil and marine projects throughout Queensland and Northern New South Wales.

Initially the successful candidate will be typically based and ocacasionally work from our Brisbane office alongside the Project Managers to establish project reporting, planning and management requirements prior to mobilising to site to set up and work on awarded projects.

This role will see you working very closely supporting experienced Project Managers and dedicated Site Supervisors and construction teams where you will learn all AM&C systems and how to support projects from startup through to completion. After the initial Brisbane startup period the successful Site Engineer will be expected to travel to and remain onsite for the duration of the project works, working alongside the Site Supervisor and construction team to assist the Project Manager as the dedicated Project Site Engineer managing and reporting all onsite progress, Quality, Safety and Environmental data to the offsite Project Manager.

Skills and Experience

The role would suit a very motivated, active, independent, mobile and driven individual with min 5 years of local Australian Site Engineering and specifically bored Piling experience. A candidate with a geotechnical background would be regarded an advantage. Experience with the delivery of various TMR / MSQ, local council and QRA (Queensland Reconstruction Authority) projects will also be heavily regarded advantages. The successful candidate will need to be someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and AM&C will provide the successful candidate with opportunities to learn, train and grow within AM&C and the industry.

Requirements

The minimum requirements for the Site Engineering role are as follows:

Civil or Geotechnical Engineering Degree with ability to join the NER and RPEQ registers

Minimum 5 years practical on-site civil experience in the Australian construction industry

Ability to interpret plans, specifications, programmes and drawings

Must be able to manage to timeframes, be cost-conscious and achievement driven

Problem-solving and creative mindset

Excellent communication and reporting skills

Strong attention to detail, safety, environmental and quality objectives

Be a driven, active, mobile and self-motivated individual

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and the use of scheduling software (e.g. MS Project)

CAD drafting experience is not a pre-requisite but is an advantage

Estimating experience is not a pre-requisite but is an advantage

Knowledge of Survey and site setout requirements is also an advantage

Current Australian Driver’s License and the ability and flexibility to frequently travel to projects sites in and around Queensland and Northern New South Wales as necessary is mandatory
