The Ranger Coordinator position is based at Hidden Valley and Twin Creeks Eco Park, located 10 mins outside of Airlie Beach in the Whitsunday's. Blue Jeep Investment are seeking a person with leadership skills and demonstrated experience working with Rangers or in similar positions working on Country to develop and grow the Twin Creek Ranger Program Team. The position involves implementing various Ranger activities as identified in the Funding Project Schedule including but not limited to; water monitoring, fire management, fauna monitoring, weed management and other land and sea management ranger projects as directed. The role of the Ranger Program Coordinator is to support Hidden Valley Twin Creeks and Gia Ngaro Traditional Owners aspiration to develop and implement a team of rangers to establish and sustain various activities for the long-term benefit of Gia Ngaro Traditional Owners within the Whitsundays. The Ranger Coordinator will provide leadership, supervision and training of the Twin Creeks Rangers at Twin Creeks Eco Village on Gia Ngaro Country in land and sea management.

The Ranger Coordinator will lead a team of rangers, providing guidance, support, and training to ensure the successful execution of on-ground activities while fostering community engagement and empowerment. The position involves close collaboration with Traditional Owners, Indigenous communities, stakeholders, and governing bodies to ensure the effective implementation of conservation, land management, and cultural heritage protection initiatives. The position will be expected to support positive engagement of the Rangers within the community and build a team of confident and competent Rangers through mentoring and training opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and mentor the Twin Creeks Ranger team, to develop cultural confidence and skills to work effectively on Country, supporting training, skills development,

Manage program operations, including logistics, equipment, safety protocols, and compliance with funding and reporting requirements.

Build strong relationships with Traditional Owners, Elders, and stakeholders to ensure ranger activities align with cultural and environmental priorities.

Promote a safe and inclusive workplace, ensuring WHS standards and culturally safe practices are upheld at all times.

What We’re Looking For:

We’re seeking a strong, capable leader with experience in land and sea management and a passion for working on Country. Ideally, you will bring:

Qualifications in Natural Resource Management, Land Management or similar or relevant similar experience and or previous experience leading a Ranger Program.

Experience or interest in working on country and ability to participate in manual activities related to conservation, land and sea management, including maintenance of infrastructure, support of tourism and recreational activities, flora and fauna protection and conservation of cultural values.

Significant practical experience in planning and implementing Ranger projects and activities related to natural and cultural resource management programs at Twin Creeks.

Demonstrated capacity to remain focused, positive, adaptive and organised in a challenging and dynamic work environment.

High-level communication skills, able to work well in a team and without supervision.

Sound knowledge of risk management procedures and practical experience implementing Health, Safety and Environment legislative requirements.

Demonstrated experience in computer literacy, project management, experience in report writing and drafting policies and procedures related to the delivery of Ranger programs and the health and wellbeing of Ranger staff.

An ability to build networks and develop sustainable partnerships, working with the needs of a diverse range of relevant stakeholders.

Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of Indigenous social and cultural challenges and a willingness to commit to community empowerment, training and development.

Current valid driver’s license; off-road experience and recovery skills. Maintaining a license is a condition of ongoing employment in this role. White card, Blue Card and National Police Clearance.
