About the corporation: Wabubadda Aboriginal Corporation RNTBC (the corporation) represents the Native Title Rights and Interests of the Jirrbal people and holds determined Native Title rights and interests in agency for all people in the Jirrbal tribe. Through Native Title related activities, partnerships, administration and negotiations the corporation seeks to advance Jirrbal interests and build capacity to support Jirrbal endeavors.

About the Jirrbal Ranger Program
The Jirrbal Rangers are employed by the Wabubadda Aboriginal Corporation RNTBC, their work focuses on protection and conservation of cultural and natural values on Jirrbal traditional lands as determined by Jirrbal Native Title determinations.
Jirrbal Country extends from Millaa Millaa in the east, Innot Hot Springs in the west, Koombooloomba to the south and north to Herberton, incorporating areas such as the Tully Gorge, Koombooloomba National Park, Tumoulin State Forest, and Herberton Range State Forest
SELECTION CRITERIA
Essential:
Formal Conservation and Land Management qualifications.
Experience working in a supervisory role & Experience managing a team.
Ability to plan, cost and project manage complex operational activities in a remote setting.
Excellent communication skills, problem solving and lateral thinking attribute.
High level of computer literacy skills in Office and proficient use of mapping platforms such as Google Earth, NAFI and Qld Globe, and field-based GPS applications.
Excellent organisational and coordination skills.
Sound physical fitness as On Country work will be required, potentially in rugged terrain and/ or in remote areas
A current 'C' class Driver’s Licence is essential.
Advantageous:
Extensive 4WD driving experience in remote areas would be considered desirable.
Willingness to work flexible hours inclusive of out-of-ordinary working hours and weekends, particularly during the annual fire program.
Good mechanical and small engine maintenance knowledge is preferred.
Basic first aid training is preferred. Remote first aid training is desirable.
Safety, Environment & Quality:
Follow all workplace health and safety designations within and surrounding the office.
Ensure a safe environment in the office, meeting spaces, kitchen, entries and exits (including emergency exits).
Although not essential for this position, Jirrbal and/or other Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are strongly encouraged to apply.
