Sushi Edo Sunnybank is a leading sushi restaurant in Sunnybank, Brisbane, offering an authentic and enjoyable dining experience and atmosphere for its numerous patrons allowing people to enjoy various different kinds of Japanese sushi and cuisine.

We are looking for a full-time Chef who will have an important role in the planning, organisation and direction of the preparation and cooking of our Japanese sushi and cuisine dishes for our loyal customers.

The main tasks and duties of the role include:

• Planning menus, estimating food and labour costs, and ordering food supplies
• Monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation
• Discussing food preparation issues with managers, kitchen and waiting staff, and other people as necessary
• Demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures
• Preparing and cooking food
• Explaining and enforcing hygiene regulations’
• May select and train staff
• May freeze and preserve foods

The main responsibilities of the role include:

• Report problems and incidents to the relevant person and/or staff
• Ensure equipment is correctly cleaned, stored and waste is handled according to health and safety regulations
• Evaluate food products to ensure quality standards are consistently attained
• Knowledge of supplies, equipment and services, ordering and inventory control
• Receive and store stock to enterprise standards and maintain an efficient store
• Prepare food for different service periods and special dietary requests

Qualifications:

• Candidates must possess a Diploma level qualification in a related field or at least 3 years of experience as a Chef in a formal restaurant setting

Remuneration: Annualised salary of $73,150 plus superannuation
