SUMMARY OF ROLE:
We are seeking a seasoned Technical Services & DevOps Manager to lead the transformation of our managed services division. This pivotal role requires a hands-on professional with a robust background in AWS, DevOps, and managed services.
The successful candidate will:
- Provide technical leadership in supporting our AI platform-as-a-service (PaaS) offering in production environments
- Help establish scalable managed service models that extend to our AI, Data, and Atlassian delivery streams
- Oversee internal IT operations, client support tooling, and infrastructure
- Build toward a high-performing managed services capability that supports both internal teams and external clients
This role starts hands-on, with responsibility for setting up our managed services capability. As the function scales, you’ll step into a strategic leadership position, building and managing the team that succeeds you in delivery.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:
Overhaul and own managed services operations across clients and internal needs
Define SLAs, support processes, escalation paths, and service documentation
Lead deployment, CI/CD, and monitoring for our AI PaaS
Build and maintain AWS infrastructure using IaC and automation best practices
Collaborate with AI, Data, and Atlassian teams to develop scalable service offerings
Provide advice on operational readiness, supportability, and platform management
Act as the escalation point for technical incidents across clients
Oversee internal IT support including devices, tooling, accounts, and security
Ensure production uptime and stability across platforms
Own documentation, observability, and incident response practices
Define the operating model for the managed services function
Help recruit and mentor new team members as the function grows
ABOUT YOU:
7+ years in technical roles, with experience across cloud engineering, DevOps, and/or systems administration
At least 3 years in a managed services or infrastructure leadership role
Strong AWS experience (certifications highly regarded – e.g. AWS SysOps, Solutions Architect)
Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation), CI/CD pipelines, and observability tooling
Experience supporting production platforms (ideally SaaS or PaaS)
Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with clients and internal stakeholders
Self-starter attitude with the ability to work independently and structure your own workload
Experience building support teams or scaling operational models is highly desirable
