Job Title: Operations Manager – Parcel Delivery
Location: Gisborne

About the Company:
We are a fast-growing parcel delivery company committed to providing reliable, efficient, and customer-focused delivery services. With a dedicated team of 14 drivers and warehouse staff, we serve North- Western region of Melbourne, ensuring timely and safe delivery of packages every day.
Position Summary:
The Operations Manager will oversee daily delivery operations, manage driver performance, and ensure the efficient use of resources to meet service standards. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, operational experience in logistics or transport, and a passion for driving continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Daily Operations Oversight
Manage the day-to-day delivery operations and routing for 11drivers.
Manage the timely distribution of parcel to certain driver’s runs by the warehouse staff.
Ensure all deliveries are completed on time, safely, and in line with service expectations.
Troubleshoot operational issues and provide immediate solutions.
Team Management & Leadership
Supervise, support, and develop drivers through regular check-ins, training, and feedback.
Conduct performance reviews, monitor KPIs (on-time delivery, customer satisfaction, etc.).
Manage scheduling, rostering, and leave planning to ensure adequate coverage.
Logistics & Planning
Optimize delivery routes using GPS and routing software to increase efficiency.
Coordinate vehicle maintenance and inspections to ensure roadworthiness and compliance.
Compliance & Safety
Ensure drivers comply with all road safety, fatigue management, and company policies.
Maintain accurate records of vehicle logs, delivery documentation, and incidents.
Customer Service & Communication
Serve as the escalation point for customer service issues related to delivery.
Communicate clearly with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
Reporting & Improvement
Monitor operational performance and produce regular reports for management.
Identify inefficiencies and lead initiatives to improve processes and reduce costs.
Qualifications & Experience:
Proven experience (3+ years) in operations or logistics management, preferably in last-mile delivery.
Strong understanding of transport/logistics systems and routing technology.
Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and transport management software.
Valid driver’s license required and forklift license.
HR Licence would be a benefit
