About the role

Rubies Nursing Care is seeking a passionate and dedicated Disability Support Worker to join our team in Kambah, ACT. This casual role will involve providing high-quality care and support to individuals with disabilities, helping them to live independently and participate fully in their community.

What you'll be doing

Assisting clients with daily living activities such as personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks

Accompanying clients to appointments, social activities, and community events

Providing emotional support and encouragement to help clients achieve their goals

Advocating for clients' rights and ensuring their needs are met

Maintaining accurate records and contributing to the development of client care plans

Adhering to all relevant policies, procedures, and safety protocols

What we're looking for

Previous experience in a similar role, supporting individuals with disabilities or complex needs

A genuine passion for making a positive difference in the lives of others

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships

Patience, empathy, and a person-centered approach to care

Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays

Essential:

First Aid Certificate and CPR.

Current Working With Vulnerable People (WWVP) Check.

Current NDIS Worker Screening Check.

A car with full comprehensive insurance and a valid driver’s license.

A solid understanding of Duty of Care and Scope of Practice.

Certificate III or IV in Disability, Individual Support, or a related qualification.

Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module.

Up-to-date National Crime Check
