About the Role
Independent Disability Services is looking for dedicated and compassionate Disability Support Workers to join our teams in Mooroolbark, Northcote, and Heidelberg, Victoria. This is a casual role with the opportunity for longer shift hours, providing you with a chance to deepen your impact and build stronger relationships with those you support. As a Disability Support Worker, you'll be supporting individuals with disabilities to live independently, achieve their goals, and participate fully in community life.
What You’ll Be Doing
Assisting clients with daily living activities such as personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks
Facilitating access to community resources and supporting social and recreational participation
Advocating for the rights of clients, ensuring their needs are met with respect and dignity
Keeping accurate and up-to-date records of support activities and progress
Collaborating closely with the broader care team to develop and implement individualized support plans
What We’re Looking For
A Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability, or Aged Care (or equivalent, such as nursing qualifications)
Experience in providing person-centered support to individuals with a range of disabilities
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients and their families
A patient, empathetic approach, with a genuine desire to make a positive difference in people’s lives
Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends and public holidays, with longer shift options available for those seeking more hours
A current Victorian driver’s license and comprehensive vehicle insurance
