We are seeking passionate and reliable Non-Smoker Female Disability Support Workers to provide exceptional care to our clients. This role is ideal for those who are empathetic, compassionate, adaptable, and ready to learn. Previous experience in disability support is preferred—we’re looking for individuals with the skills, heart and drive to make a difference to individual's lives.
Highly experienced in ASD level 3 and significant behaviors of concern and Psychosocial Disabilities.
High level of ground level experience in the field /or lived experience.
Innovative and proactive in approach with individual to work with family-centered practice.
Reliable and consistent.
Following instructions, scheduling and Dietary requirements, directions form allied health professionals
Familiar with Shift Care type Programs in relation to competing shift notes and ABC Data reporting.
Outside the box thinker – uses own initiative, not afraid to think differently.
Nonjudgmental, advocate and stand up for Individuals when needed and supported decisions making.
The Role:
The role of disability support worker/s will include and is not limited to: Supporting individuals with activities of daily living, assisting with personal care, Medication Support - Administering medication (webster pack) providing domestic assistance (house cleaning, washing, tidying up), Assisting with Shopping, meal preparation, providing companionship, capacity building activities and promoting independence. Provide Activity Based Transport for social outings. Must be able to follow clear and precise instructions, meal plans and daily schedules, social ques and visuals.
Essential for this Role:
Committed to a minimum of 12 months in the role
Manual Handling Training and Certificate
Catheter and Bowel Management Experience
Seizure Management
Minimum Certificate 3 in Disability - Not Looking for Age Care applicants - Disability Only.
Experience with supporting clients who have Positive Behaviors Support and Restrictive Practices.
2 years of experience in working as a disability support worker and experience with challenging behaviors.
Current National Police Check (within 12 months validity), (or be prepared to obtain)
Current First Aid & CPR certification (or be prepared to obtain)
Mental Health First Aid (willing to obtain)
Statement of Attainment in Assist Clients with Medication Skill Set
Current driver’s license and car - Comprehensive insurance.
Demonstrated effective communication skills and interpersonal, combined with a proactive and hands-on attitude.
Must hold a Working with Vulnerable People Card or the NDIS Worker Screening Card /be prepared to obtain
Demonstrated experience/knowledge in working with people with disability.
Must be comfortable working independently as well as an active team member.
Clear Written and Speaking English Skills essential for effective communication.
Complete the NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme) Worker Orientation Module Certificate is mandatory prior to commencement: https://www.ndiscommission.gov.au/workers
