This pay rate is inclusive of mandatory 25% casual loading

About the role

This is a 6 - 12 month contract opporutnity with a Regional council in Northern NSW to assist primarily with EPA reporting and progress updates across a number of water projects including Dams. If you have experience working for council doing EPA reports and site inspections of water infrastrucure this role would be perfect for you.

This is a contract position so you will receive an hourly rate (up to $75 p/h for an exceptional candidate) and be paid for every hour you work.

The role is based in a regional town in Northern NSW so the ideal candidate will be willing to relocate for the duration of the role. Remote working would be almost impossible due to the inspection requirements but some WFH flexibility may be afforded.

You will also:

• Liaise with and manage key stakeholders to ensure environmental impact assessments meet legislative and policy requirements, industry standards, specifications, and client needs.
• Provide advice on environmental assessment and management for Council Capital Works projects, ensuring compliance across areas including sustainability, biodiversity, water, landform and soils, heritage, noise and vibration, air quality, waste management, and amenity."
• Advise on project briefs and scope of works agreements, and supervise consultants and contractors engaged to provide environmental services for Capital Works.

About you

The ideal candidate will be:

1. Open to contract work and willing to relocate
2. Have experience working for NSW councils helping with EPA reporting and Environmental Impact Assessments
3. Good with people (internal and external stakeholders)
4. Experience with Water and Dam projects highly regarded
5. A self-starter who needs little active management
6. Have formal qualifications in Environmental or Engineering fields.
