We are currently seeking a qualified, experienced, and self-motivated Environmental Health Officer to contribute to a short-term project with one of Sydney's major local councils. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact while working within a values-driven and forward-thinking team on a temporary basis.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Advise and report on progress of investigations and inspection programs pertaining to environment health within the council.
• Provide Input into the environmental health procedures and policies.
• Provide advice on complex environmental health and controversial matters within the community
• Engage and manage customer expectations regarding how policies are being perceived in the community.
• Carry out proactive and regular in field inspection of registered premises.

To Be Successful, You Will Have:

• Minimum 3+ years of experience as an environmental officer or similar field
• Bachelor of Science degree and qualifications in Applied Science (Environmental Health or equivalent)
• Expertise in successfully delivering environmental health functions including competent delivery of inspections, investigations and enforcement
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the application of public and environmental health legislation, policies and guidelines
• Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise effectively
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive, solutions-focused mindset
• Professional communication skills, with the ability to liaise confidently with clients and stakeholders
