About the Role
With significant growth over the last 12 months and onwards an opportunity for a suitably experienced Group HSEQ Manager to invest themselves in the day-to-day operations of the business, be hands on and practical in their approach to both the safety of our team, and quality of our product and service delivery. The role will be integral to provision of higher level strategic leadership and direction to our varying business units and their workforce contingents.

As the Group HSEQ Manager, you will play a pivotal role in upholding and enhancing our established standards of Health, Safety, Environment and Quality, as a member of the Senior Leadership Team. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will oversee and implement strategies to maintain a safe working environment and minimise environmental impact across all areas of our operations. This is a hands-on role covering both strategy and implementation.

We can absolutely guarantee that no two days will be the same, change is very much inevitable and there will be some travel to sites required. This a rewarding role where you will have the autonomy to make decisions, drive change and have a positive impact on the safety culture of the business on a daily basis.

This role is not for someone who is happy to just go through the motions and work with what we already have in place. We are looking for you to identify opportunities, drive change and have a true impact on health, safety and productivity quality in our business.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and drive Health, Safety and Environment programs and activities to effect cultural and organisational change
  • Promote workplace health and safety within the company by monitoring and updating procedure and policy as needed
  • Ensure the effective management of risks and hazards, including the review, development and implementation of necessary programs, tools and reports to improve safety outcomes
  • Coach, mentor, assist, challenge and guide site leaders in safety and related issues
  • Champion delivery of quality compliant work practices through innovation, AI and technology development, and currency of best-practice approaches
  • Ensure relevant training needs analysis are maintained for compliance training and support delivery
  • Communicate and facilitate the implementation of safety best practices
  • Recommend strategic and tactical safety improvements
  • Personally lead investigations for all high-level incidents
  • Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and inspections to ensure compliance with ISO 9001
  • Collaborate with management for strategic planning and decision-making.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role
  • Experience in maintaining a management system certified to ISO 14001, ISO 9001 and ISO 45001 and ISO 31000
  • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health, or a related field.
  • Ability to influence, coach and guide on best practices and processes
  • ICAM experience/ Auditing certification
  • Proven track record of success in managing leading and developing teams.
  • Experience working in a similar role in a high-risk environment (e.g., heavy industry, civil construction, mining, engineering etc).
  • Experience in the customization and delivery of cutting edge WHS Management Systems across multiple complex business units (highly regarded)
  • White card (Construction Industry)
  • Valid driver license
