The Australian Labor Party (NSW Branch) is the largest branch of Australia’s oldest political party. The Party endeavours to achieve the political and social values of equality, democracy, liberty and social cooperation. The organisation is made up of members and affiliated unions who work together to campaign for Labor governments at a local, state, and federal level.

Qualifications & experience

A degree in Accounting

Ability to work within strict deadlines and reporting timelines.

High attention to detail.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Able to show initiative and be a self-starter.

Good computer software skills including Excel.

Tasks & responsibilities

Responsible for a wide range of duties to support the Financial and Disclosures team, including:

Raising invoices and processing payment.

Recording membership fee payments, member donations, and merchandise purchases.

Reconciliation of online donation (National Builder) and issuing receipts.

Recording online donations and inter-branch account transfers.

Processing credit card payments and transferring to inter-branch accounts

Recording donations and issuing receipts to donors.

Processing of supplier invoices, credit card payments and related documentation management.

Assisting with the general banking tasks and membership cash-up procedure.

Other ad hoc accounting duties to support the broader team.
