Data Business Analysts | Regulatory Reporting Project

Contract | 8 months initially | Immediate start
Location: Brisbane & 2-4 days WFH OR Anywhere in Australia - can be fully remote

We're partnering with a leading financial services organisation on a major Data Transformation project focused on meeting updated APRA regulatory reporting requirements.

We're looking for up to 4 Technical Data Analysts / Data Business Analysts with a strong data background and proven experience in SQL.

If you have solid experience in data analysis and SQL (must have), and want to contribute to a project critical for improving data governance, transparency, and compliance, we'd love to hear from you!

Responsibilities:

• Analysing and translating code (such as SQL) to understand and document how business rules are derived.
  
• Mapping technical and business rules into a business glossary.
  
• Engaging with stakeholders and subject matter experts to gather and translate data and reporting needs.
  
• Supporting regulatory compliance through detailed analysis and documentation of data elements.
  
• Playing a key role in uplifting data governance and reporting capability.
  

About you:

• Strong experience working in data-heavy environments. You're more technical than your typical BA.
  
• Confidence working with and interpreting SQL or similar code.
  
• Experience translating technical data rules into clear business terms.
  
• Excellent communication skills. You can easily bridge the gap between business and technical teams.
  
• Ideally, a background in financial services, APRA reporting, or other regulated industries.
  
• Bonus points for exposure to data governance or business glossary frameworks.
