North East Community Children’s Centre is a community based, non-profit centre for early childhood education and care located in Hillcrest. We are looking for an experienced reliable Office Administrator/Bookkeeper to join our team on a part-time basis. The role will suit someone who enjoys building connections, values work life balance, and is committed to supporting our dedicated team of professionals. The position is 3/4 days per week and will work in collaboration with the Director and extended team.
The Centre is a long day care centre for children 6 weeks to 5 years and has up to 74 children a day. We have been operating for over 35 years and have a great reputation within the community. Our committed long term team collaborate to support best practice and work effectively with children and families.

You will be responsible for:
Managing of family accounts with a high level of knowledge of childcare subsidy, rebates, and processes to assist families with payment of fees using Spike (childcare administration software) and MYOB
Manage staff files and support the centre director in onboarding procedures of staff including staff schedules, qualifications, and records for regulatory authority.
Answering phones, emails, meet and greet and providing support to families
Manage and reconcile daily financial transactions
Process invoices, receipts, and payments
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
Prepare monthly and quarterly reports
Assist in budget tracking and financial forecasting
Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations
Handle payroll, union, bills and superannuation processing
Monitor consumables and the purchasing of new materials with attention to budgetary constraints
Financial Reporting – Assisting in the preparation of fortnightly, monthly and end of year reports.
Organisation of files, including Archiving
Requirements:
Previous experience in a finance or bookkeeping role (essential)
Strong proficiency in MYOB (essential)
Knowledge of Spike software (advantageous)
Proficient in Microsoft office, PowerPoint, Excel, Canva and other tools to support communications and resource development
A sound understanding of website development and maintenance (advantageous)
Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
Excellent organisational and time management skills
Proficient in digital platforms and organisational systems
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Excellent Communication (written and oral), with a customer-focused approach
Experience in a Child Care setting (advantageous)
Sound Understanding of the child care subsidy scheme (advantageous)
Hold a current working with children check (or willing to acquire one)
Australian Citizenship or a working employment Visa
Have 2 professional referees available upon request
