The Role

Forget photocopying and shadowing partners in meetings you don’t understand. You’ll get real work. With real clients. From day one.

You’ll be supported, trained, and trusted. We won't throw you in the deep end, but we'll definitely encourage you to swim.

You’ll work closely with our Director and senior lawyers across property, finance, construction, commercial, structuring and business law, depending on your interests.

And yes—you’ll be expected to think, not just do.

Here's what we envisage you'll actually be doing:

drafting contracts, leases, and documents that actually matter

attending client meetings (yes, you’re invited)

helping clients buy, sell, develop and lease property

learning how to really advise in a way which responds to the commercial reality of our clients' businesses, not just recite the law

getting hands-on experience with structures, projects, and negotiations

building the habits and confidence that make great lawyers

working as part of a team towards everyone’s success

Property purchases and sales – from private homes to multi-million dollar development sites and commercial buildings

Property finance - from advising upon business loans for inspirational startups to structuring portfolio lending to some of Canberra's most prominent players

Commercial leases – from tenants opening their first business to managing leasing for shopping centres

Development – from concept to completion for commercial and residential projects in ACT and NSW

Construction matters – from contracts drafting and negotiation to contracts administration and risk management

Structuring - from property joint ventures to going concerns and enterprises

Your Qualifications

Degree in Laws, with a double degree favourably viewed

Admitted to practice in the ACT, or eligible to transfer to ACT (experienced paralegals soon-to-be admitted will also be considered)
