The Barista is responsible for preparing and serving a wide range of coffee and espresso-based beverages while providing excellent customer service.

Key Accountabilities
- Customer Service: Greet customers in a friendly and welcoming manner, take their orders, and provide recommendations based on their preferences.
- Coffee Preparation: Prepare and serve coffee and espresso-based beverages, including but not limited to lattes, cappuccinos, flat whites, and specialty drinks, according to established recipes and standards.
- Espresso Machine Operation: Operate espresso machines and other coffee equipment, ensuring proper maintenance and cleanliness.
- Bean Grinding: Grind coffee beans to the appropriate coarseness for each order, ensuring freshness and flavour.
- Milk Steaming: Steam and froth milk for use in various coffee beverages, achieving the desired consistency and temperature.
- Quality Control: Ensure the quality and consistency of coffee drinks by monitoring brewing time, water temperature, and ingredient proportions.
- Handle Payments: Present bills to guests, process payments accurately.
- Safety and Hygiene: Follow safety and hygiene protocols, including proper handling of food and beverages, as well as maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Adhere to health and safety regulations.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and replenish coffee beans, syrups, and other supplies as needed to ensure product availability.
- Menu Knowledge: Stay informed about the menu offerings, including seasonal specials, and effectively communicate these to customers.
- Upselling: Suggest additional items or upsell based on customer preferences and the menu.
- Flexibility in work schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Skills & Experience
These are the desired skills and experience for this role:
- NZQA certified Barista qualification.
Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items
