About the role
Are you detail-oriented and thrive in a dynamic work environment? We’re seeking a Payroll Officer who brings accuracy, efficiency, and a proactive approach to delivering a seamless payroll experience.

Key responsibilities include -

• Manage the end-to-end fortnightly payroll process for approximately 800 employees across Australia and New Zealand.
• Process salary variations, new hires, manual payments (including terminations, leave adjustments, back pays, and redundancies).
• Handle monthly bonus and commission payments.
• Process weekly termination payments and ad hoc runs as required.
• Maintain and update employee records across all platforms.
• Ensure compliance with statutory payments and submissions for superannuation, payroll tax, workers' compensation insurance, and PAYG.
• Contribute to payroll process and system improvement initiatives.
• Interpret awards and resolve payroll-related inquiries.

About You
You’ll be joining a small, fast-paced team, bringing a "can-do" attitude and a willingness to take ownership of your work. You’re a team player who can also work independently, with a strong focus on customer service, attention to detail, and excellent time management skills. Ideally, you’ll have:

• 3-4 years of payroll experience in a fast-paced setting.
• A solid understanding of payroll principles, tax regulations, and employment laws.
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (highly beneficial).
• Experience with Keypay or Employment Hero payroll systems (desirable).
• Familiarity with New Zealand payroll processes (a plus, but not essential).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with stakeholders.
