About the Position
Working within our Parks & Environment Business Unit, the primary responsibility of this position is to maintain, protect and enhance the City's unique and recognisable character of its parks and public open spaces, in accordance with the City's environmental management plans and work schedule. The Parks Maintainer will provide efficient, high quality horticultural services, working to working to maintain and enhance garden amenities in parks and public open spaces throughout the City of South Perth .
To be successful in this position you will need to demonstrate:
- Certificate III in Horticulture (Turf or Parks and Gardens) or Irrigation, or demonstrated experience in a similar role.
- Working knowledge of plants, garden design and maintenance, tree pruning, turf preparation and maintenance.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise horticultural skills using various materials and specialised techniques.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, as well as the ability to work within a team.
- Knowledge of Local Government operations and general procedures - desirable.
- Current Traffic Management certificate.
- Current 'C' Class Driver's Licence.
- Current First Aid Certificate.
The City may consider candidates that do not possess the above licences and certifications, provided the candidate is able and willing to obtain these qualifications if offered the role.
