My client is a highly profitable, privately owned multinational business that is people and customer centric with a clear strategy for growth. This is an exciting time to join, and they are currently looking for a Payroll Manager to lead and grow the payroll team and ensure the accurate processing of payroll for employees across multiple entities in Australia & New Zealand.

Duties will be varied and will include:

Manage the entire payroll department across multiple businesses in both Australia and New Zealand.
Responsibility for managing performance-based commissions and bonus payments.
Full ownership of correct payments for Super, KiwiSaver, Payroll-tax and any PAYE/PAYG related queries.
Managing and meetings the need of a complex stakeholder structure, including Executives across the different businesses and external 3rd parties.
Management of the Payroll team onshore here in Sydney – coaching, training and developing skill sets.
Playing a key and lead role in automation, process improvements and a new Payroll / HR system implementation.

Skills required to be considered:

• Demonstrated experience managing in-house payroll for New Zealand, with strong knowledge of NZ payroll legislation and compliance – essential.
• Serve as the compliance lead, ensuring adherence to all federal, state, and local payroll regulations across Australia and NZ.
• Proven leadership experience and qualities to lead and grow a payroll team.
• Act as a strategic Payroll Business Partner, fostering effective cross-functional collaboration across departments.
• Previous experience supporting a payroll system implementation, ensuring seamless transition and adoption.
• Collaborative approach and a passion to work in a high achieving business on a journey of growth!
