Our Client:
Our Client is helping Australians fall in love with Japanese & Korean beauty trends. Sourcing the most unique & sought after products, this business allows customers of all ages, sexes and walks of life to experience these products in one location.
The Role:
Reporting to the CEO & COO, & partnering with external stakeholders, a newly created Head of Finance role is being implemented to shape the financial backbone of one of Australia's most dynamic beauty retailers as it continues to scale nationally and prepares for the public markets. Manage a team of four & lead fundraising, valuation strategy, financial infrastructure development & investor readiness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build a scalable finance operating model & KPI dashboard for a multi-channel, multi-location business.
- Oversee implementation of SAP & the integration of other business systems.
- Ensure full compliance with the ATO, ASIC & future ASX listing obligations.
- Implement robust internal controls, audit readiness & financial governance.
- Develop & own the long-term financial model & planning frameworks
- Lead budget setting, forecasting, cash flow planning, & commercial reporting across retail & e-commerce channels.
- Provide actionable insights on store profitability, product margins, inventory dynamics, & expansion ROI.
- Define optimal capital structure to support growth.
- Lead all IPO readiness workstreams.
- Build investor facing materials.
Key Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience in senior finance roles, preferably in high growth retail, consumer goods, or multi-site operations.
- To navigate cross-cultural team & market interactions, it is preferred, but not essential, that the successful candidate possess a deep understanding of both Australian & Asian business environments - whether through personal background, work experience, or leadership exposure.
- Proven track record of capitol raising M&A or IPO preparation.
- CA/CPA qualified. MBA, CPA or Big 4 background preferred.
- Deep knowledge of Australian compliance, tax & accounting frameworks.
- Hands-on ERP (SAP preferred) experience, strong Excel & modelling skills.
- Exceptional strategic thinking, analytical skills & business judgement.
- Outstanding communication skills - both internally & externally across all levels.
- Experience building & leading high-performance finance teams.
