About the Role
Ventia is seeking an experienced and dynamic Project SHEQ Manager to lead the Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality (SHEQ) function on the Across Government Facilities Management Arrangement (AGFMA) contract across South Australia. This newly established role presents a rare opportunity to shape, define, and elevate SHEQ performance across 5,000+ government-owned sites.

As a Senior Leadership Team member, you will lead a dedicated SHEQ team, acting as the primary link between project operations and leadership on all SHEQ matters. Your role will be pivotal in fostering a positive safety culture, ensuring compliance with legislation and ISO standards, and driving continuous improvement in SHEQ outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership & Mentorship: Guide and support the SHEQ team, fostering alignment with project goals.
  • Strategic Collaboration: Partner with the GM, operational leaders, and clients to drive SHEQ excellence.
  • Safety, Compliance & Governance: Implement SHEQ strategies, ensure legislative and ISO compliance, and promote a strong safety culture.
  • Risk & Continuous Improvement: Manage investigations (ICAM), risk assessments, audits, and corrective actions to drive improvement.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Oversee SHEQ and asset reporting, leveraging insights for informed action.
  • Supply Chain Engagement: Strengthen subcontractor relationships to elevate SHEQ performance.

About You

  • Tertiary qualification in Workplace Health and Safety, Environmental or Quality Management (or equivalent).
  • Formal training in incident investigation. (ICAM)
  • Valid Australian Drivers licence.
  • Qualifications & Licences:
  • Expertise & Leadership: Senior SHEQ leadership experience in construction, utilities, or infrastructure, with deep knowledge of SHEQ legislation, ISO standards, and compliance frameworks.
  • Risk & Operational Excellence: Proven skills in risk mitigation, safety systems, audits, SHEQ reporting, document control, and continuous improvement.
  • Culture & Influence: Strong ability to foster collaborative teams, influence stakeholders, drive cultural change, and lead with resilience and strategic thinking.
