Response Employment and Training, a respected and award winning Registered Training Organisation (RTO), is seeking a dedicated Vocational Trainer and Assessor to deliver the CHC35021 Certificate III in Community Safety Services to Night Patrol Officers across regional and remote NT communities.
About the Role:
As a Trainer and Assessor, you will be responsible for delivering face-to-face vocational training to Night Patrol Officers working across various remote communities. You will help participants develop the skills, knowledge and confidence needed to contribute to safer communities through culturally responsive training.
Key responsibilities include:
Delivering accredited training and assessment in CHC35021 – Certificate III in Community Safety Services.
Engaging learners in culturally appropriate, flexible and practical training sessions.
Travelling to remote communities across the NT, often via light aircraft and driving 4WD vehicles on unsealed roads.
Maintaining strong relationships with community leaders, stakeholders, and participants.
Contributing to a supportive and inclusive training environment aligned with cultural protocols and community expectations.
What We’re Looking For:
Experience working as a Night Patrol Officer, Security Guard or other relevant role, ideally in regional or remote Aboriginal communities.
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are strongly encouraged to apply.
Willingness and ability to travel regularly to remote NT locations.
Current manual driver’s licence with 4WD capability.
Excellent interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills.
Understanding of Aboriginal culture and protocols – or willingness to learn and adapt for each community.
Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122 or TAE40116) – or willingness to undertake a traineeship to obtain this qualification with our full support.
Desirable:
Prior training or mentoring experience.
Previous work in community services or related sectors.
