Entry level IT Sales / Support Engineer
Sarbi Tech
Posted 24 days ago
We’re a Brisbane based IT managed service provider (MSP) looking for someone to join our team as a part-time sales and support engineer. This is an entry level position, so no prior IT experience is required, just enthusiasm and a willingness to learn. It’s a perfect role for a university student looking for an opportunity in the IT field with great flexibility around classes. The role is for 2 days a week, with a commission given for clients on-boarded. Initially work will be a mix of sales and IT support, with a focus on the customer-facing sales side (including in-person meetings, door-to-door sales, and phone calls).
What we are looking for in the ideal candidate:
Great communication skills; verbal and written. This role is heavily customer focused, so you need to be friendly, clear and approachable. Documentation is also critical, so strong English writing skills are a must.
Willingness to learn. You will be dealing with a wide array of different issues across a vast combination of systems and software. You are not expected to know any of this ahead of time, but you will absolutely need to learn it as you go.
Logical mindset and keen eye for detail. No two problems are ever the same, but they all have patterns, so noticing patterns and applying that knowledge going forward is key to avoiding being overwhelmed.
Tough skin. Any customer acquiring role involves a lot of rejection, both in-person and on the phone. We need someone who can take it in their stride and be willing to give it their all every day.
What have we got to offer:
Great work flexibility: the opportunity to choose which days of the week you work (perfect for a university student, parent, or someone wanting to change careers).
Easy going and very approachable team
Great opportunity to gain experience across a wide range of IT fields:
Full Wintel stack (Server & Active Directory, Windows 10/11, etc.)
Hypervisor and VM deployment and management
M365 & O365 management
Backup management (Veeam, Wasabi)
Pretty much all things IT related
Think you might be a great fit?
Are you a logical person who loves solving problems, enjoys a challenge, and has a friendly and approachable demeanour?
A resume (though still attach it) is not as important to this application as the cover letter.
In your cover letter, please:
Tell us about yourself and why your personality makes you a great fit.
Share any related hobbies. Do you tinker in your free time or have a homelab? If you do, share a photo with us.
Where are you located? Are you willing to travel and have a car?
Cat person or dog person, and why? (Or throw us a curve-ball and tell us about your bird/lizard/other.)
