We’re looking for an experienced and strategic Fleet Manager to take charge of our fleet operations based in Mascot, NSW. This is a critical leadership role that oversees every aspect of fleet lifecycle management—from procurement and financing to maintenance, scheduling, and operational performance. Key Responsibilities:
Fleet Procurement & Lifecycle Management: Oversee the purchase, financing, maintenance, fuelling, and replacement strategy for the entire fleet.
Scheduling & Logistics: Organise transport schedules, vehicle pick-up and delivery, and ensure seamless execution aligned with business timelines.
Compliance & Safety: Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety standards and internal fleet maintenance protocols.
Operational Records: Maintain detailed records and prepare reports on fleet activity, efficiency, and cost-saving initiatives.
Service Quality: Guarantee that vehicles meet quality and maintenance standards across all operations.
Utilisation & Efficiency: Optimise fleet usage, fuel management, and maintenance planning to reduce downtime and boost performance.
People Leadership: Mentor and evaluate employees, foster teamwork, and manage performance and training while cultivating a high-performing culture. Also responsible for Driver Management of the entire fleet.
Business Improvement: Identify and implement opportunities to enhance productivity, reduce operational costs, and improve margins.
Strategic Decision-Making: Support broader operational goals by making data-informed decisions that drive high service standards in transport delivery.
Workforce Planning: Effectively manage driver and resource planning to align with transport volumes, team availability, and operational demands.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work alongside operations, logistics, recruitment, and compliance teams to meet company objectives.
What You Bring:
2 years or more of Full Time Experience in a fleet or transport leadership role, ideally in a national or multi-site environment.
Strong knowledge of vehicle procurement, servicing cycles, and heavy fleet operations.
Demonstrated ability to lead high-performing teams and manage driver schedules and compliance.
Proven commercial acumen and experience with cost optimisation and contract/vendor management.
Ability to analyse operational data to drive business improvement and process optimisation.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
